Urban Terror: Remington SR-8
The Remington SR-8 is produced by Remington's custom shop, and as such, it is probably quite expensive. I cannot find much information on this weapon. We know from the game that it is a bolt-action rifle, fires .338 Lapua Magnum, and has removable box magazines with a five round capacity.
The .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge has the distinct honor of being the only cartridge designed specifically for sniper duty. It fires a 250 grain bullet approximately 3000 feet per second, giving it an effective range of roughly 1600 meters (about one mile). It is an excellent long-range anti-personel weapon.
Ammunition is hard to find and expensive. I have also not found full case dimensions. I do know that the case is 2.714 inches (69mm) long, and the minimum overall cartridge length is somewhere between 3.681 inches and 3.583 inches. The head diameter is .590 inches. The cartridge was based on the 416 Rigby case. Bullets are fairly long, being proportionate to their larger diameter.
