Urban Terror: AK-103

The AK-103 is a direct descendant of the AK-47 found all over the world. The AK line of weapons are known for their reliability, reportedly able to continue operating after being subjected to unhealthy doses of sand, mud, snow and ice. The AK-103 fires 7.62x39mm ammunition, the same thing the AK-47 fires. This round has a considerably heavier projectile than 5.56mm NATO ammunition, which the Russians prefer because it gives the round more punch, but this is debatable because there is much less velocity.

I'm not sure whether AK-103s exist outside of the United States. The only information I can find on them comes from an outfit in Florida. They are rebuilt with a new, synthetic stock and a new finish as part of the import process. However, I'm not sure what gun is the starting point.
